3 Best Martial Arts in Port Coquitlam, BC

I am very new the MMA world at just 3 months in, with clinch being the first gym I have joined. As a very beginner female I was a bit intimidated to start but the atmosphere at clinch is fantastic, and I quickly felt comfortable and welcome. Sal is a great coach who really puts in an effort to make sure his students are getting the technique and progressing. The gym may be a bit on the pricy side, but worth it for the quality of coaching and the atmosphere.

Sal gives me the best experience in Clinch, no matter private sessions or group classes, all taught me a lot. Definitely the place I would recommend the others to come to learn some real thing.

Couch Sal enjoys working with people that actually wants to train and be part of a growing environment and has fun way to teach kids and everyone.

Let me give a better review , my 1st one wasn’t the most descriptive! My son started muay thai training in kindergarten and had been training with Shawn Albrecht for close to 9 years now and with Alex he has trained for about 5 years. And honest to god , this is absolutely the best decision we ever made. We have all witnessed his progress over the years and are just amazed . From a cocky little kid to a tournament fighter. He sees this and he thrives to get better. We have watched him grow not only in his fitness and skills as a kickboxer but also his leadership and work ethic are really excelling. Since he was young , many people comment on his form and techniques. This is all because of Shawn, Brody, Alex and a host of other coaches here at Ascension. Their attention to detail and passion to teach is second to none. I advise all parents to give their kids the opportunity of MMA. And there is no better place then Ascension. Absolutely great people with a passion for what they do.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Engaging and helpful instructors, wonderful families, inviting atmosphere, the list goes on. My 3 kids attend Ascension and it has been the best thing about moving to the area from Vancouver. Seeing the bigger kids take care of the little kids, the competitive and motivating atmosphere of the competition team- these kids are so lucky to go to Ascension Martial Arts.

Best experience of my life! Awesome coaches, awesome people!! Worth definitely trying, and you will learn some very useful skills.
