2025 Update:Dr. Fahad AlKherayf is a neurosurgeon–scientist at The Ottawa Hospital whose clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive cranial and skull base surgery. His research program focuses on translational studies in primary brain tumors and prospective clinical trials aimed at improving treatment outcomes. His work has made significant contributions to the advancement of neurosurgical techniques and patient-centered care, with research in minimally invasive neurosurgery and intraoperative diagnostics demonstrating direct and measurable clinical impact. Apart from being a Neurosurgeon at The Ottawa Hospital, Dr. AlKherayf holds several leadership, academic, and research appointments. He will serve as Assistant Dean of International and Global Health (IGHO) in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa. He is the Director of the Combined Skull Base Program at The Ottawa Hospital, Division of Neurosurgery, and has served as Director of the Combined Skull Base Fellowship Program at the University of Ottawa since 2015. He also serves as the Clinical Research Director for the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Ottawa. Academically, Dr. AlKherayf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Ottawa, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. In research, he is an Associate Scientist in the Clinical Epidemiology Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and a Senior Clinical Investigator in the Neuroscience Program at OHRI, integrating scientific discovery directly into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.
