“Dr. Anthony Joseph Bella completed his medical degree at McMaster University. He completed his postgraduate training in urology at Western University. He specializes in treating erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease. Dr. Anthony Joseph Bella is an assistant professor and director of basic urological research at the Division of Urology, the Department of Surgery, and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. His research goal is to develop novel approaches to prevent or repair the nerve damage that can occur during treatments for prostate cancer. His laboratory focuses on the neurobiology of cavernous nerve response to injury, emphasizing molecular mechanisms involved in neuroprotection and neuroregeneration.

2025 Update: He was the first American Foundation for Urologic Disease Robert J. Krane Scholar, received a California Urology Foundation Award for stem cell research. Dr. Anthony Joseph Bella was also named the American Urologic Association Foundation Outstanding Graduate Scholar while at UCSF. He is the founder and Medical Director of Ottawa Urology and Men's Health. He is fluent in English and Slovak.”
