“Dr. Shainul Waljee studied Biological Sciences and Chemistry at the University of Alberta, earning her Bachelor of Science in 1999. She then graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo's Optometry program in 2003. Her internships included the Omni Eye Centre in Baltimore and a private practice in Coquitlam. She completed a one-year residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease at the Illinois College of Optometry, where she worked with specialists in glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal diseases and gained experience in research and teaching. Dr. Waljee joined Family Eyecare Centre in 2004, where she enjoys educating patients about their eye health. She has a special interest in ocular disease and contact lenses and was named B.C.'s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2014 by the British Columbia Doctors of Optometry.
