“Dr. Sarah Hutchens studied Biology at Memorial University and later earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. She completed advanced training in vision development, therapy, and rehabilitation through the Optometric Extension Program and obtained Fellowship certification from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Sarah Hutchens specializes in Developmental Optometry and is a member of Vision Therapy Canada (VTC) and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). She has established the first dedicated vision therapy practice in her province. Her practice focuses on rehabilitating learning-related vision issues, binocular vision problems, and visual problems related to concussions, successfully improving patients' visual skills through therapy. Dr. Hutchens plays an active role in the Optometry and Vision Therapy communities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Vision Therapy Canada. Currently she practising in The Vision Development Centre. The clinic offers vision therapy, visual rehabilitation, concussion rehabilitation, and comprehensive eye examinations, specializing in pediatric and children's eye care. Her associate, Ariel Hannaford, received the Gold Award in the Community Votes for both 2023 and 2024.”
