Riverview Park & Zoo was founded in 1933 by Ross Dobbin, general manager of the Peterborough Utilities Commission. The Zoo offers a beautiful setting for strolls amidst the natural beauty of Peterborough. Riverview Park & Zoo's mission is to provide the citizens of Peterborough with an exceptional and accessible recreational and educational facility in a park environment, fostering a love for wildlife and nature. The Zoo has approximately 150 animals across more than 40 species. The Zoo attaches to professional zoological practices, promoting excellence and conservation efforts to ensure the health and well-being of its animals.

2025 Update: In addition to its animal exhibits, the zoo features a miniature train ride, a F-86 Sabre fighter aircraft on display, playgrounds, picnic areas and a disc golf course.
