“Barnfield Point Recreation Centre has six sheets of ice for curling, change rooms with lockers & a meeting room. The centre offers trade shows and special events, 1,200-square-metre space. The popular bayside restaurant is open to the public year-round. They have a good restaurant, and it is great in the winter because it is home to the Orillia Curling Club. Barnfield Point Recreation Centre has dressing rooms and lockers, kitchen facilities, bar & Bayside Restaurant.

2025 Update: Barnfield Point Recreation Centre is also available for trade shows and special events during the non-ice season.”

WEST ORILLIA SPORTS COMPLEX REVIEWS

This is a new, well designed facility with great viewing, great seating, and 2 nice rinks. The foyer is large and welcoming. There are also several neat features including a rock climbing wall, mini-sticks mini-rinks, and several large multipurpose rooms. We attended for the Eastern Canada Youth Wrestling Championships and the facility looked great and made for a memorable tournament.

It's a great place for sports. It's temporarily closed for indoor sports. There are various kinds of fields outside. There's a playground and a loop trail too. Public washroom, lots of parking. It's next to Lakehead University, across from police station. It's 2 minutes to highway 11. It's close to Costco with gas station.

Good ice. Lots of pick up hockey September thru April, and even a bit into May.

ORILLIA RECREATION CENTRE REVIEWS

Facility looks great, although I've only used the pool so far. The pool is well maintained, and the changerooms are pretty good for a public facility. The leisure pool is a bit on the small side so there isn't as much room to play around with your kids as you might want, but it's still pretty good. The water features (small fountains, a waterfall, and a bucket that tips out) are a nice touch. The lifeguards are also on top of things, so kudos to that team - very good at monitoring activities, keeping the Littles out of the steam room and therapy pool (hot tub). Will definitely be going back.

We did parent and tot swim class here and it's great! The facilities are new and clean and well maintained. The instructors do a great job. The front desk staff do too. The other programs going on as we walk through the building all seem great as well. This is a great rec centre!

Go 3 days a week, friendly and courteous staff. Very informative trainers, top notch gym equipment with extra cardio machines so waiting is rare. Just wish they kept one side of the gymnasium open with no events or scheduled activity.

BARNFIELD POINT RECREATION CENTRE REVIEWS

Had lunch and watched some curling.....especially when weather not conducive to travelling anywhere! ....a good meeting place for friends and catching up with friends not seen for a while. ....

Nice place, food was great, great prices. Nice people that work there it.

Very clean area. A great place to enjoy the summer.
