"Station 16 Gallery is an urban gallery of modern art exhibiting an international roster of artists mainly inspired by street art and graffiti. The gallery is actively looking for ways to reinvent itself and inject life into the Montreal art scene, exhibiting artworks that challenge the conventional white cube exhibition. 'Station 16' started as an innovative silkscreen printshop mainly involved in textile printing, and soon began to create fine art prints and collaborate with local artists from Montreal. GALERIE MX
333 Viger West, Montreal, QC H2Z 0A1 Directions
Since 2005
Here’s The Deal:
"Galerie MX is founded by two longtime friends Michael Mensi & François Lauzon. Each expressed the mutual desire to create a dedicated place for different artists to display their artwork in the heart of the Quartier International de Montreal. The Gallery linked its activities to those of the distribution agency Mensi & Rioux, thereby allowing artists represented by Gallery MX to access the broad expertise of the agency in international business growth. They also wish to help the public discover existing, contemporary artists, whether they be artists from Canada or internationally. They believe there's a fine line between the universe of artists, their art, and the universe of gallery owners that tears down the veil of the unknown, allowing spectators to witness that universe."
