CW CANINE CONSULTING AT MR. PET’S REVIEWS
When we adopted our senior rescue we hired Christine to provide private training in our home. We followed up with group training and it was fantastic. This spring we adopted a puppy from a rescue and due to Covid, it was difficult to socialize her. We signed our puppy up for training and between the blended online and in person classes, along with Socials, we have made huge strides in socializing our puppy. We recommend CW Canine to all of our friends.
We discovered Christine and Alyssa nearly one year ago now once we got our first puppy! I was very interested in her approach of building a relationship with your dog vs. treat based training. We have completed Before the Basics, The Basics, Behaviour Based Training, socials, and group meditation walks with Christine and are astounded by the progress we made as a family in our training. We can’t wait to do more training with her in the near future. My dog has very high anxiety when it comes to going to the vet clinic, however, Alyssa has magic hands and my dog doesn’t even flinch when she cuts his nails and completes regular grooming. We could not recommend Christine and Alyssa more. They have become apart of our family. They are the one stop shop! We cannot thank them more than enough for their patience and care that they have given my family.

About a year ago, my girlfriend and I adopted a large Pyrenees blue heeler mix named Lua. Upon bringing her home, we realized she had severe reactivity to bikes, people, runners, dogs and animals and basically anything that moved. In addition to her reactivity, she was highly anxious; leaving the apartment was a battle, and as two full-time students, we began to struggle. Going anywhere became impossible, and we started to take Lua out at odd hours to avoid anything that could set her off. We found ourselves at a dead-end, and after trying countless strategies, we decided to call Nurtured Canine. Melissa recommended the travel and train program for Lua. Melissa worked with Lua and ourselves over the next couple of months, and the results have been life-changing. Melissa is an exceptional individual who clearly cares about her clients and their customers. Melissa was extremely easy to get along with and was clear in her directions and training. In addition to her training skills, Melissa was compassionate towards our concerns and towards Lua’s anxiety and reactivity. Our questions via text were promptly answered, and she was always flexible with appointments. We used to spend our weekends locked up in our apartment, keeping Lua away from any triggers, but now we spend our weekends taking Lua to the markets, coffee shops and travelling to Tofino with her.
