The refuge is forested with seasoned pine plantations, a combined forest, an old sugar bush, and a ravine near the East Holland River. Sheppard's Bush Conservation Area also has a vast network of public lands and fun trails along the East Holland River. The trail covers 26 hectares (65 acres) and has over three kilometres of hiking trails, eleven soccer fields, a maple syrup evaporator hut and the Sheppard family house. Visitors' parking will be available in the parking lot off Industry Street for 3 hours.

Tim Jones Trail is a well-maintained trail within Optimist Park in Aurora, ON. This 3.5-mile loop trail takes 1 hour and 19 minutes to complete and connects to the Wehrenberg Trail.
