Aurora Community Arboretum is a 100 acres of park area between Wellington Street East and St John's Sideroad. It is deeply committed by its volunteer society to maintain and grow plants and trees. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and conserving an arboretum for Aurora and its surroundings. Aurora Community Arboretum also focused on formal sports facilities, the part is reserved for semi-formal specimen plantation, and the rest is dedicated to naturalized forests, meadows and wetlands. The members and the volunteers help to maintain the Arboretum regularly.

The Aurora Historical Society was established in 1963 and is committed to preserving the history of Aurora. A non-profit organization run by a volunteer team is proud to own and manage the National Historic Site of Hillary House. Hillary House was built in 1862 and used for over 100 years as a doctor's practice and family residence. The Aurora Historical Society includes its collections of medical equipment, historical objects and related documents. The Historical Society is also very interested in education, heritage and preservation.
