We visited Fort Normandeau with family while on a visit from our BC home. The location is extremely pleasant - a nice park-like setting right beside the river. However, the historical presentation is every bit as worthwhile - we learned a great deal about early settlement in the Red Deer area as well as the Northwest Rebellion. If you enjoy a taste of history in an extremely relaxing setting, this is the place for you! Great stop for a picnic lunch too!

The house was built by the Cronquist family who were Swedish immigrants - Historically it is a Victorian-style farmhouse - The house has lived many "lives" over that past 100 years

We booked the Cronquist House to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of my in-laws. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in planning the menu for our event. We had 34 family members attending so the venue was the perfect size to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The charming vintage home with all of it's homey touches added so much to make the afternoon feel special. We'd definitely consider this venue again for future family celebrations.

I have such fond memories tap dancing here for Miss Arlene's Dance Finale every year growing up. As for concerts, musicals, comedians etc. ect. I've seen here over the past 20 plus years.... no other venue in Red Deer compares when it comes to sound quality (well.. the Vat is right up there too actually, but usually a more desirable croud here, lol).
