The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts is a community organization staffed entirely by volunteers who promote the visual, literary, and performing arts. This historic house, constructed in 1892 by William Lawrence, a prominent local lumber baron, served as the Lawrence Family residence until 1940. Remarkably, the house remained abandoned yet fully furnished until 1977, when it was generously donated to the City of Sarnia by Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Lawrence. In 1986, thanks to the generous contributions from the Suncor Energy Foundation and the City of Sarnia, the house underwent a comprehensive renovation. Subsequently, on June 17, 2001, The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts officially reopened its doors. It now serves as a multifaceted venue for exhibitions, performances, educational programs, and a wide range of special activities suitable for all age groups. The center hosts a diverse collection of artwork that includes landscapes across the seasons and pieces featuring florals and birds. Notably, the exhibition space at The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts is open to all artists residing or working in Lambton County, fostering a vibrant local arts community. An online gift shop is also available for those interested in acquiring art and supporting the center's mission.

THE LAWRENCE HOUSE CENTRE FOR THE ARTS REVIEWS
Amazing gallery in the heart of downtown Sarnia. We came and enjoyed the Indigenous artwork from many local artists. Tons of artwork and handcrafted items you can view and/or purchase.
My husband and I had the pleasure of going to the Lawrence house on the weekend. The two ladies (owner possibly)were extremely helpful and pleasant. We chose two pieces that will brighten our home, and plan on visiting again. 5 stars for the experience .
A great place to visit if your interested in local artists. Also has a nice gift shop.
