We are very lucky here in Peterborough ont.to have the 2nd largest hydrolic boat lift in the world..And dont forget to Honk while driving under the tunnel..its a safety thing and Tradition..Enjoy.pst..the local historical museum is also next door..
Beautiful area for walking or picnics. 2 different parks with beaches are on either side of the lock within 5 minutes walk. There's a splash pad, volleyball courts, soccer fields, and outdoor exercise equipment nearby.
Never fails to please! The locks are totally amazing. The Lift lock in Peterborough is an engineering dream.
