Dr. Michael D. Cusimano completed his Neurosurgery Training Program at the University of Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1990. He completed a formal skull base surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, and his clinical practice is devoted to performing surgery on patients with complex skull base lesions. Dr. Michael Fehlings completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto and his core training in general surgery at Queen's University. He completed his Ph.D. training, which examined spinal cord injury (SCI) post-injury mechanisms. Dr. Michael Fehlings completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at New York University Medical Center and a clinical fellowship in the Department of Orthopedics and Neurosurgery. He combines an active clinical practice in complex spinal surgery with a translationally oriented research program focused on discovering novel treatments to improve functional outcomes following SCI and other spinal cord disorders. Dr. Michael Fehlings has won various prestigious awards, including the Gold Medal in Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
