Dr. Philips is a psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. He is also certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (CIME). His expertise is psychopharmacology and cognitive & behavioural therapy for anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Philips obtained his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and completed his psychiatry residency in Neurosciences at the University of Tennessee. His sub-specialty is in anxiety and mood disorders, obtained at the University of Toronto. Dr. Philips is the head of the anxiety and mood disorder centre in Mississauga. He has been active in teaching for the last 25 years, lecturing psychiatrists, general practitioners, mental health professionals, students and the general public. He has been a principal investigator (PI) for over 50 clinical trials in anxiety and mood disorders over the last twenty years.
