I can’t say enough about this place! The service is consistently amazing, even on busy weekends. We usually visit on weekdays, but tonight was exceptionally busy. It’s advisable to call and reserve to be seated right away. The special rolls, including Lonsdale, Grouse Mountain, and Cheetos, are all excellent! Our go-to sushi picks are Eli OShi and the Philadelphia Roll. The Spicy Salmon Sashimi is truly amazing. It’s our favorite spot, and we make sure to go there once a week.

Sushi Umi is awesome! We were hungry after a day of mountain biking and stopped in here for a quick meal before heading back and it blew our expectations out of the water! We were overwhelmed by all the choices they had so we decided to set sail with one of their party platters. It did not disappoint! The best part though was their service. The Sushi bar staff all greeted us warmly when we came in and our server was so sweet. We are a couple of dirty smelly bikers and needed to service a bike outside when we waited and they were super friendly and accommodating (even gave us some miso on the house!). Thanks for being so nice to some loud annoying dirtbags! You guys rock.

I’m always hesitant in trying new sushi places. Once you find the one you love in your area there’s no need to try anywhere else since it’s all the same right Wrong. Sushi Umi has the thickest rolls, freshest produce and prompt service.

I wasn’t sure what this place was going to be like. It looks unassuming from the outside however the quality and price of the sushi was perfect on my books. We had three specialty rolls and an ebi sunamono and it was all super delicious. This will be my new favourite sushi place in North Vancouver.

A tidy and clean Japanese restaurant in Lonsdale area. The food is tasty and fresh with a reasonable price in a busy area. The patio is a good eating area. We enjoy our meal there even people are walk by. The little patio is higher than the street so the car and people won't bother you. The indoor is big enough for customers enjoying their meals. We come back again and the food is still really fresh and good. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Thank you for their good work. The flowers at the sidewalk is nice too.

Very tasty sushi and Japanese food!! Very reasonable prices for sushi. Nabeyaki udon was delicious — large portion. Tempura shrimp came on the side — nice that it didn’t get soggy in the soup. Sushi rolls with large portions of fish compared to rice. Service was amazing — very attentive staff. Great presentation for their dishes, which we didn’t expect but made the dining experience so much better. Highly recommend.
