When we decided to put our daughter in Kumon she was proficient in math, but lacked the confidence to trust what she was doing was right and ask questions if she was incorrect. Instead she continuously would guess at the answer and change it repeatedly thinking she wouldn't be right. After having her in Kumon for two school years she is not only amazing at math, she is confident, proud, capable and well ahead of her grade which makes her feel successful! We are diligent with making sure she puts the Kumon system of consistent repetition into practice by doing sheets everyday and not doubling up on certain days and taking others off. This system REALLY works, repetition, repetition, repetition and it only takes an average of 15 minutes a day!! No need to wait until your child is really struggling, if you see signs now I absolutely recommend starting!

Sylvan Learning is the most significant tutoring center in Grande Prairie. Nancy Rourke is the director of the tutoring center. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a joint major in English and Psychology and a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education. Their students achieve up to two to three times more growth in their math and reading scores than their peers. The tutoring center offers lessons for preschool to the high school level.
