“Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is a modern gallery with high-quality, original works by emerging and established local artists. They lead visitors on enlightening journeys through art, promoting a deeper appreciation of the works on display to professional services with detailed descriptions. Their gallery occupies over 2,474.5 square meters. This gallery space has two permanent displays featuring diverse fine art on rotas, such as Massey Sales Gallery and the Spencer Showroom. Their collections are from emerging and established local artists. Their art rental and sales are free and open to the public.

2025 Update: Art Gallery of Greater Victoria has been building an art collection for almost 70 years. With over 22,000 works of art, they have the largest public collection in British Columbia and are a vibrant and active part of Victoria’s artist community. They accept the Leisure Assistant Pass. The pass provides free admission to one support person to ensure the person with a disability does not pay double for their admission. The Gallery has one free accessible parking space across from the main entrance. Service animals are welcome at the Gallery.”

ART GALLERY OF GREATER VICTORIA REVIEWS

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is a wonderful art gallery. It is housed in two spaces; a more modern gallery and the first floor of the Spencer Mansion. The galleries are thoughtfully put together and arranged. The addition of some of the artists personal experiences, beliefs, and life story’s in the exhibits is a great inclusion. Within each themed gallery is there is an array or art, ranging from more modern/contemporary art, to some art from the 1700s. The art pieces are woven together in a very thoughtful manner. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning.

Amazing collection of works with detailed descriptions and spotlights on Canadian artists. Super great way to spend a couple of hours, particularly enjoyed the Symbiosis exhibit mushrooms! 5/5.

A taste of European aesthetic and culture on van isle! Currently showing a nudes exhibition and they have a LeMoine as well as a Picasso sketch. Cannot recommend the AGGV enough!!! Thank you!

A lovely gallery space, upstairs and down...an eclectic mix of styles, a cohesive ,well displayed! I had been eyeing a Shane Norris painting! Got it! Ending up a dark blue wall in our bedroom! Highly recommend the art, the gallery and Joe , he was awesome, friendly and professional!

Every time I visit this lovely commercial gallery I'm impressed by the variety and quality of the art, which always has a delightful contemporary edge to it. Joe is incredibly knowledgeable about each piece, each artist and art in general. Thank you for a fabulous Sunday afternoon!!

They offer thoughtful insights without ever being pushy, allowing me to take my time and truly appreciate each piece. I always leave feeling inspired, humbled, and grateful to have spent time surrounded by such stunning artwork. It’s a must-visit every time I’m in town.
