Absolutely stop by Gallery Merrick, whether you live in Victoria or are just visiting! I have attended a number of openings and have always enjoyed the variety of artists showing their work, as well as the enthusiasm and knowledge Joe brings to each event. I have also had art shipped and am impressed with the excellent, professional service!
Very lovely gallery. First time there and the owner introduced me to some amazing artists. He helped me pick a beautiful piece of art made of bees wax from artist in Saskatoon. It's a 70th gift. There was lots of art in the basement. He will also come to your home and help arrange art.

MADRONA GALLERY REVIEWS
The staff are welcoming and friendly, the gallery itself is beautifully curated, and not once did I feel out of place (being in the plainest of plain clothes as I was). There's no pressure of any sort, just gorgeous and unique artwork. I was lucky enough to visit the day after an exhibit for Morgana Wallace opened, and was doubly lucky to get one of her pieces for myself! I'd you have the time definitely stop in to see the collections, and if Morgana has an exhibit... free up some time and go for sure!
Sophisticated contemporary art gallery with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Madrona Gallery features an ever changing repertoire of contemporary art from established and up-and-coming artists. You can also usually find a classic Canadian historical piece or two if you look carefully or chat with the friendly owners. I own an affordable and elegant water colour painting from a west coast artists I've admired for years. Great service and a variety of price points and styles. Always worth popping into in a Saturday, you might even get a glass of wine it's there's an opening that day.
We stumbled upon the Madrona Gallery several year ago, and were delighted to get to know Michael. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and such a fantastic atmosphere in his gem of a gallery. We have since purchased 5 paintings from him (one of which he sourced for us at another gallery after letting him know that we dearly wanted it!), and I'm sure that there will be more in the future. I wish we could get out to Victoria more often, just to drop in, say hi, and see what is new.

LEGACY ART GALLERY REVIEWS
This gallery has some of the most beautiful, engaging, and impactful exhibits that I have ever seen. A must visit if you have a little time downtown.
Just visited to check out the "Fluid" exhibit and it was marvelous. I was trying hard not to cry as I walked by and read the stories of their tragedies and victories and how they're living their authentic lives now and how that gives them so much hope and happiness. Something we should all strive for! Besides that, the space is lovely, lots of natural light, and accessible.
Great visit. Loved the Urban Regalia exhibit by Sugiit Lukxs
