“Beacon Hill Park is a public park that covers 75 hectares of parkland. The park features natural areas, manicured flower beds, footpaths, and many sports and play features for the whole family to enjoy. Beacon Hill Park boasts unique natural features and a sensitive ecology. It has a golf putting green, lawn bowling, Garry oak meadows, a baseball diamond, a cricket pitch, footpaths, flower beds, and a petting zoo. The park also offers many parking stalls. It is accessible by a couple of infrequent buses. This is a gorgeous park with lots of paths for walking.

2025 Update: Beacon Hill Park is home to a variety of bird species, such as Anna’s hummingbird, Bald eagle, Red-breasted nuthatch, and Common raven, allowing visitors to enjoy and observe the scenery.”

“Clover Point Park is an oceanfront park known for its striking views, kite flyers, and windsurfers. The park is also dog-friendly and a nice spot to relax and for a picnic. It features a designated walking area for dog owners and a walking path that runs right along the water and provides access to the breakwater. Additionally, there is a public restroom for use. Clover Point Park is a great place for walking on the beach and for strolling or driving along Dallas Rd and Beach Drive. Clover Point Park is a perfect spot to watch the windsurfing, and this place is perfect for families to enjoy jogging along the ocean. Visitors can explore the rocky shore and the natural beauty of the coast.”

“Cadboro-Gyro Park attracts visitors from throughout the region. The park features a sandy, log-strewn beach, a beach-themed playground, an iconic giant octopus, salmon, and sea serpent play sculptures, a boat launch for non-motorized craft, and tennis courts. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of Cadboro Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Olympic Mountains. The park is ideal for families, offering excellent swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing, and is wheelchair accessible with a beach ramp. This is the perfect location for relaxing and spending your weekend with your kids, as there lot to do for kids, including sand and sea.

BEACON HILL PARK REVIEWS

Beacon Hill is a large comprehensive and beautiful park near downtown, bordering Douglas Street and Dallas Road. It has a beautiful enclosed rose garden and a formal garden. Multiple ponds with waterfows, playgrounds, an amphitheatre and a children's petty zoo well stocked with goats and many cute farm animals plus elaborate peacocks. Playground: Two large amazing playgrounds, one with water fountain feature, and one with a fun zipline. Restrooms: Very clean large modern washrooms near the playground and formal gardens. Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leash can enjoy large green lawns and meandering paths. Picnic area: Endless large shaded lawn areas with picnic tables and benches.

Top 3 city parks in Canada. Safe, spacious and friendly with lots to do for all ages. Restrooms: Near the playground there are male, female and any gender washrooms.

We go to this park once a week. Lovely park with beautiful flowet beds, ponds and wildlife. Tbe children's farm is great too.

Nice long curving loose pebble beach, lots of dogs, leash free dog parks along top of the bluffs by parking, some fun rock oitcroppings to explore, lots of driftwood to sit on and play with Dog-friendliness: Leash free dog parks along top of the bluffs, dogs welcome along the beach.

We love the view here! It's a perfect spot to watch the wind surfers and kite flyers, as well as being a nice spot for a picnic break. It's a must whenever we are in town to stop here for a bit of a break.

Great, dog friendly place. Got a nice view of killer whales pretty recently. I enjoy walking here most every day.

CADBORO-GYRO PARK REVIEWS

It is a very nice public park with a large space, a playground for children to play, and many benches. The beach is close and the water is clear and nice. I brought food and had a party with my friends and it was really nice. It's a peaceful and free atmosphere, so it's hard to dislike it. Even a wheelchair can get around without a problem! There is also a public restroom and drinking fountain.

Grew up going to this park regularly. Fantastic for kids, beautiful beach. Still holds that magic at now 60 years old. Playground: Great for any age. Restrooms: Clean and accessible. Dog-friendliness: Great for leashed dogs only. But you can play in the water if you don't mind getting wet with your buddy. Picnic area: Not much shade.

Great kids park - love hopping from the beach to the park and back again.
