“Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park covers 1,072 acres and has interconnected lakes with four great, family-friendly beaches. They provide picnic areas, 15 kilometres of walking trails, bird viewing, windsurfing, swimming, canoeing, and rowing. Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park also has a restaurant during the summer season. PKOLS (MOUNT DOUGLAS PARK) REVIEWS

One of the great spots to overlook Greater Victoria area. I came here today as there was a small blanket of snow covering the city and wanted a better view. Typically you can drive up the mountain and they have a few parking spots, but today they locked the gate at the base of the mountain and you had to walk up. In a decent pace without stopping will take roughly 15minutes to the plateau and another 5 to the summit.

What a beautiful trail in Victoria! I went there for a solo hike in late April. The wildflowers - Camas - are in full bloom! The park have a number of trails at different levels. The beach looks beautiful too though I couldn't visit due to the weather. The view from the summit is stunning. You will ne

Great viewing place. Road doesn't open for car until noon, but before then you can walk or ride up to the top. However it's a pretty strenuous hike. You can see all of Victoria from the viewpoint next to the parking area near the top.

MOUNT TOLMIE PARK REVIEWS

Walked up early to watch the sunrise and it did not disappoint. Truly breathtaking sunrise with the sun braking the land and mountains including Mount Baker to luminate the ocean. I have seen the sunset and sunrise from the top, they were both excellent. Fun place to have a nice walk. Would recommend waking up early for the sunrise but even if you don't, Mount Tolmie is a great place to have a calm walk around and look at the city.

Just 10 minutes drive from Victoria downtown. Worth a visit for sunrise or sunset. Also you can have 360 degree view of Victoria. Please go early for sunset as it can get crowded to find a parking.

Gorgeous views of city from all directions. Lovely easy trails with small oak trees and wildflowers. Great vistas found at benches scattered around trails.

ELK/BEAVER LAKE REGIONAL PARK REVIEWS

I went on 10k trail of Elk and Beaver Lake. Started off early in morning on Sunday and completed the hike in a total of almost 3 hrs. Enjoyed every moment of the trail. Although we did just the hiking and walking around the lake but there are many other recreational activities that one can do such as cycling (only in multi-use trails), horse riding, swimming (in designated spots), canoeing and fishing (Rainbow Trout). It’s also an excellent location for picnics, beaches (sun bathing in summers) and there is also a nature centre (Working hrs are 1-4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, July to August).The fishing float is accessible by wheel chair. The park is located by side of Patricia Bay Highway no.17 in Saanich and covers an area of 442.77 hectares. All in all a must do trek for everyone particularly for beginners. Thank you Victoria for such beautiful memories for life time.

This is a great place for a nice flat walk. The trail goes around 2 lakes about 11km in length. You can just walk out and back if you want a shorter walk. Dogs can be leash free, under control. The side furthest from the highway is shared use with the horse trail. It is the best part in winter because it is higher and doesn't flood from heavy rains. There is also a large field on the right of the entrance that is an open dog park.

I feel incredibly lucky to have a place like this close by. You can enjoy forest bathing while feeling the lake sparkling in the sunlight and the forest path full of phytoncide. The forest road is well-maintained enough to allow trail running.
