What a great place to take in thousands of years of British Columbia history. Located across from the Harbor, next to Parliament and the Empress Hotel, its in the heart of tourist stops in Victoria. Had no intentions of attending a museum, but heard it was a good place to start and our group of 3 ventured here for an afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience; museum captures everything from languages, habitats, landscapes and cultures of the region.

The Miniature Museum was very well done. There were around fifty displays which went into incredible detail of various scenes. After a brief glow in the dark walk through space, we passed through a war zone with lots of miniature soldiers and tanks and buildings on fire. There was the Great Canadian Railway including all the main cities across Canada set in different time periods. One of our favourite displays was a valley scene containing numerous lovely castles of the world.

I have to say that prior to coming here, I really didn't give much thought to bugs or find them very interesting to look at. Although it is quite a small space, this zoo has many different bugs - all alive - to see and hold. The guide was so good with young and older children. She was patient and encouraging. My girls are teens and both loved it. I gained a new appreciation for all bugs but in particular tarantulas and scorpions. Would highly recommend!
