Royal BC Museum is one of Canada's most cherished cultural gems, with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1886. In 1894, the Archives came into existence, and in a significant development in 2003, these two institutions merged to become British Columbia's comprehensive provincial museum and archives. Together, they diligently collect a diverse array of artifacts, documents, and specimens representing the natural and human history of British Columbia. Their primary mission is to safeguard these treasures for future generations and share the wealth of knowledge they hold with the global community. Their unwavering commitment revolves around deepening their understanding of the province and igniting curiosity and wonder among all who engage with their offerings. Notably, the Royal BC Museum welcomes millions of visitors annually in person and through its website. Visitors can experience the IMAX Victoria Theatre, which screens educational films and entertaining commercial content. ROYAL BC MUSEUM REVIEWS
Spent a little over an hour here, could have stayed a lot longer if we had more time. Excellent exhibits with very interesting displays. The Old Town part was the most interesting, it will be nice when it is fully opened again. Most of the kids I saw were most interested in Old Town with one child screaming with excitement in the train station. The Angkor exhibit was very cool with real artifacts over a 1000 years old. I am not too interested in dinosaurs but the Sue exhibit was good. We will be back, thank you.
Was fantastic to revisit the museum as an adult after spending much time here as a youth. Excellent international feature exhibits and lots to relearn about the region we inhabit. Great IMAX theatre films also. My favourite has always been the Old Town exhibit; brings me right back to my childhood.
Great place to stop by! The current exhibits were really interesting seeing old Cambodian civilization. Exhibits of different animal ecosystems are very neat too!

MINIATURE WORLD REVIEWS
If you haven’t been here before, you absolutely have to come check it out. The dioramas are so intricate and detailed - we were genuinely impressed with each display. They had captions for the dioramas depicting the wars, and the attention to detail was just incredible. A lot of the dioramas were interactive and had buttons you can press. Some buttons would move trains, propellers, cars, fish, and lights. Other dioramas would have their lighting change from sunset to sunrise, and you could see the stars at night. We stayed here for an hour and a half, and to be honest, I probably could’ve stayed longer. This is great for all ages and it was definitely a sight to see!
This is a hidden gem in Victoria. IMO, the best museum in the city. If you only have a day or even half a day in Victoria, allocate at least 30 minutes to breeze through the exhibits. I'd recommend about an hour to fully grasp the amount of work that went on creating the exhibits. There is so much detail to comprehend. My favorite is the outer space exhibit right at the start of the tour.
This place is great! Price is fairly affordable, and the detail in these dioramas is insane! If you don't care for details, you might blow through this place pretty quickly. But if you take your time to look at all the intricate details you can easily spend an hour or more here. Some of the displays have interactive buttons that make things happen on the diorama itself which is pretty cool. I think the only thing that would be cool is if they had some modern-day dioramas as well as all the old historic stuff.

VICTORIA BUG ZOO REVIEWS
Heads up, summer is REALLY busy. Other than that, 10/10 experience!!! If you follow along with the tour (is constant and circling around the room so you can jump in/out as you’d like) you can hold certain bugs! The employees are incredibly kind and informative, and even have employee-handmade items in the gift shop! (Which are beautiful btw, I bought some adorable clay slug earrings) If you’re in the area, ABSOLUTELY worth a visit!!!
Very nice bug zoo showcase lots of insects and bugs which we never seen before. They have staff sometime they take out the insects and you can interact with them very nice experience. From visiting here we know how important it is to preserve the environment we living in because those bugs are performing important roles on the ecosystem. Ticket is not very expensive but what you get from it is definitely more than the value of ticket itself for sure.
