ST-VIATEUR BAGEL SHOP REVIEWS
This place lives up to the hype for sure! Probably the best bagels I’ve ever had. The selection of toppings is very big and the variety of flavors you can choose them are great as well. Place only accepts cash, but ATM is available inside the building. Even after a few days the bagels were still amazing after reheated. There will be a long line but it gives you plenty of time to check out the fridges for your bagel accoutrements.
Embrace the cash-only policy, watch the bagels being baked right before your eyes, and indulge in the piping hot deliciousness with your favorite spread. It's an experience that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the art of bagel-making. While this branch may not offer the extensive flavor variety found in their village location, the bagels and the hype surrounding them are the real deal.
One of the best and must try bagels in Montreal. My favourite is all dressed :).

Fairmount Bagel proudly stands as the premier bagel shop in Montréal, Quebec. Its origins trace back to 1919 when Isadore Shlafman, a skilled bagel baker from Russia, came to Montreal in search of a job in his trade. To his surprise, he found no bagel bakeries in the city and thus decided to open Montreal's very first bagel bakery. This marked the beginning of Fairmount Bagel's rich history. In 1950, Isadore's son Jack joined him in the bakery, followed by his grandchildren in 1979, and in 2010, two of his grandsons also became part of the business. With four generations of the Shlafman Family running the establishment, Fairmount Bagel has become an authentic institution in Montreal, preserving the bagel-making technique and tradition that Isadore introduced over 100 years ago. Using natural ingredients, they maintain the timeless method of preparing fresh bagels that are warm and delicious. Every bagel is meticulously rolled by hand and baked to perfection in their wood-burning ovens. The menu offers a wide variety of options to choose from, including sesame, poppy, plain, garlic, and even blueberry bagels. For health-conscious customers, they also offer whole wheat, multigrain, muesli, and power bagels, made using 100% organic whole wheat flour. With its storied history and dedication to preserving the authentic art of bagel-making, Fairmount Bagel remains a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.

FAIRMOUNT BAGEL REVIEWS
I understand why this is considered the best bagel in Montréal. The dressed up bagel was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The shop is very no frills. No sandwiches and cream cheese must be purchased by the container. Also be aware that it’s cash only for orders under $20.
Bagel bagel bagel, yes that's what you hear when you visit the plateau region of mount royal of montreal! Situated in the vibrant neighbourhood, this place sees a huge rush all the time. You have a lot of options to choose from, there are vegan options too. You get the spreads like butter and others over there. The bagels are reasonably priced. Must try in montreal! I tried the all dressed and the sesame one. These bagels are compared to the ones in New York.
I got the onion bagel and wow amazing, they do not put on cream cheese or butter on but you can buy spreads from them, but you have to do it yourself. However I ate the bagel buy itself and it was delicious. They only take cash if you spend less than $20 also.

BAGEL ST-LO REVIEWS
Went here on the second day of our trip to Montreal and had to go back every day after! This is hands down my fav cafe. The food was simple yet delicious. The bagels are made on site and were delicious. The have amazing vegetarian options which I appreciated a lot! Also, the place is gorgeous and the staff was so helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to go back!
Some of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had! We went two days in a row because we enjoyed them so much. The No. 10, No. 9 and No. 4 were our favorites but the real stars are the bagels and homemade cream cheese! I also thought it was adorable that you get to chose a mug off of the shelf for your coffee - makes you feel right at home. The servers were all super friendly and polite! Lovely outdoor seating and the inside is filled with kitschy/vintage decor - including a giant Tintin poster!
The eatery was a cool, yet charming place in an unexpected neighbourhood setting; a bistro of sorts, with a casual, easy atmosphere. Amazingly-delicious bagel combinations, good coffee too. I look forward to trying a lot more of their menu on my future visits.
