JAPADOG REVIEWS

Very interesting place and something definitely recommend trying if you are visiting Vancouver. Over the year more options are added to the “dogs” but going with the more “classic” option can never go wrong. Their lemonade is also fantastic, Yuzu is definitely my favorite if you like fruity, sweet but not overpowering sourness. The shop is pretty small and gets packed quickly, but doesn’t take away from the great food at all!

Small place with a cool vibe, and very good hot dog selection. I had the Tonkatsu and it was amazing!! the washroom can use some cleaning, and the staff could be a bit more welcoming, but all in all, it was a great quick-bite

Worth trying, but not mind blowing. If I’m back in Vancouver I’ll try some other dogs. I love that they have veggie dogs and double checked that I was ok with the fish flakes when I ordered.

CHICKPEA REVIEWS

Our dinner at Chickpea was delicious, and the large potions of the rice platter left us feeling full. They have a unique ordering system. First you choose your style (rice platter, pita, salad, etc), and then you pick your main. If you order one of the larger plates, it’s a lot of food. But if you order one of the smaller options, you may want some side dishes as well. Very cute mural inside the restaurant! Their crispy cauliflower was amazing, and I loved the well-dressed salad. The hummus (and the green sauce) was fantastic! Vegetarian options: Menu is all vegetarian.

So good! We loved the Chickpea Fries and hibiscus lemonade which was like a slush! I got the Calamachick in a rice bowl and it was such a huge portion! Very tasty and I ate about half the bowl, and saved the rest for next day's lunch. The oyster mushrooms were nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Absolutely delicious! Both things I had were super flavourful. Pita Kasum and Red Beet Salad. Yummy!!! Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town.

MR.SHAWARMA FOOD TRUCK REVIEWS

I have an unreasonable love of Mr. Shawarma. The Philly cheese steaks have gotten me through some long days. The burgers are impeccable. I really need to branch out and try some of the platters, I just ordered a spicy box and will update the review if and when I discover that it's delicious too. I love Mr. Shawarma so much that when their Internet went down I used my own wifi to get my order in. Edit: yup, the spicy box is delicious Vegetarian options: There are falafels. I don't really like falafels but I bet if I tried Mr. Shawarma falafels they'd be amazing and open my eyes to the potential of falafel.

Perhaps the most cost-effective place I have eaten in Canada. Most items cost around 10$, and still soo good with large amount. They are also very friendly, helped me with a free bag after payment, since i didn’t know bags are paid here. Also the service has always been very efficient, i have eaten several times in a week. Downside would be, they have no dine-in option, but you can sit in the park right there.

Amazing spicy falafel box. I’m so glad we chose this food truck for lunch. Quick service, fresh and tasty food, great prices. Five star food truck for sure.
