3 Best Hair Salons in Ottawa, ON

This salon is a gem! Super friendly atmosphere, it’s was busy and everyone seemed happy to be there. My stylist Genevieve took great care to understand my hair routine, what I liked and didn’t, checked in as she was cutting and styling. Also very personable and easy to chat with. We did a colour consultation too and she asked tons of questions to better understand what I liked about my inspo pic and how it would work with my hair type. All in all - amazing experience!

Genevieve is super knowledgeable about coloring! She talked me through all my options to create the look I wanted while being able to retain my natural curl pattern. The end result was even better than I thought it would be! On top of being a colour expert, she’s also just a joy to talk to while you’re in her chair.

My first hair cut with Lauren was great! She’s so fabulous at what she does and made me feel like a million bucks trying out a new hairstyle. I will be coming back to Jetblack :)

I came to Ottawa from out of town and was desperate to get my hair done. I frantically requested an appointment through Salon Rouge’s website at around midnight on Thursday night. The next morning before the salon even officially opened, Amir called me and we discussed the current state of my hair and my goals. He agreed to take me on and told me to come in ASAP. I was in the salon chair by 10:30 on Friday morning!! My hair required a LOT of work and I knew that, so I knew not to expect to get exactly what I wished. But Amir completely changed my perspective on hair and hair salons!! I ended up doing two sessions in one day with the amazing Danielle who did a phenomenal job on my hair. Amir was so thorough in explaining and teaching me the after-care for my hair especially after we put it through so much. He taught me a lot about hair in general and cleared the misconceptions of lightening Indigenous hair. I never got the blonde I wanted at any other salons because I was always told that it was impossible. I had even gotten lighter fusion hair extensions a while back (as suggested by my old hairstylist) just because I was desperate to get the blonde that I wanted. I was at the salon from 10:30 AM to 5 PM and the staff were so lovely — they made sure that I was hydrated and even charged my phone for me when I needed it. After the staff went home for the day, Amir stayed back with me to ensure that I got what I wanted. He even went to the next step and helped me completely switch out all of my hair care products. I love this place and I cannot thank Amir and his team enough.

Always such a good experience. Been coming to this place for over 4 years and they always do such a good job. Price is fair for the high quality experience you receive. Jane is now been my stylist for the past year and a bit and she is absolutely lovely. I have always got what I asked for from the team and I trust them with my hair.

Amir is an experienced hairstylist, who immediately had a vision of how my hair would look its best. Very nice shampoo, I had a great free cappuccino, very proficient cut, and he took all the time to blow out my very long, thick hair, and it looks great. I’m very happy.
