“Mooney's Bay Park is a popular picnic spot in Ottawa and a favourite summer destination for rowers, swimmers, and volleyball enthusiasts. The park features a pool, a picnic area, Sue Holloway Fitness Park, a children's playground, and Terry Fox Stadium. Mooney's Bay Park is an artificial bay on the Rideau River, which is perfect for boating. The park is home to the annual Hope Beach Volleyball Tournament and the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival. Visitors can enjoy the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and lush greenery while spending quality time with family. There are plenty of parking options nearby.

2025 Update: Year-round activities are available, such as swimming in the waters of the Rideau River, biking along paths that can take riders as far as the downtown core, and cross-country skiing. Many wedding parties have their photos taken by the arched wooden bridges with weeping willows as a backdrop in the spring and summer months. Mooney's Bay Park is also home to Pirate Adventures, an interactive pirate-theatre cruise.”

MOONEY'S BAY PARK REVIEWS

This park is a great way to spend a sunny day solo or with family and friends. There is a beach, park benches, picnic tables, trails, and playground structures. Parking is not too far and plentiful during the week. It can get busy even during the week so weekends are super crowded. The bathroom situation was limited but better than nothing. Playground: Several different playgrounds for all ages. Slides, monkey bars, balance beams, seesaw. Picnic area: Grassy areas near playground and beach. Park benches and picnic tables all around.

Dragon Boat festival was on. A well organized and fun annual event. The festival takes place at Mooney’s Bay park. There are numerous teams represented. Live music, food and beer tents as well as crafts and clothing available to sample and purchase.

Large and beautifully maintained park. Ideal for a family BBQ, with a kids' play area and volleyball on the beach.

Amazing place to have a walk, cycling, feeding birds, lots of flora n fauna. Great water fall n kids play area. Nice creek you can walk across...beautiful park either all you want. Washroom closes by 7 or before . It is really a place for photography for Models and indeed great spot.

Beautiful park! The falls here are beautiful, and there is also a walking trail up to a lookout spot which is very peaceful and beautiful as well. Great place to enjoy some nature in the city!

Good place for picknick spot , great views and also has washrooms . Went with friends enjoyed every moment of it.

CONFEDERATION PARK REVIEWS

I love this park! There is this beautiful fountain in the middle and the park has lots of benches so it is a good spot to take a breather. Feel free to have a Pique-Nique or to bring your pets, there is lot's of green space. Close to the fountain there is also a little food area where they sell dinks and snacks.. Restrooms: There are toilet cabines in the park. Dog-friendliness: Feel free to bring your pet! There is lots of space for them to run run around and play. Picnic area: You can bring a blanket and have a pique-nique here there. Lots of grass area.

Nice and clean park to walk around. You can sit and relax on one of the benches or by the fountain. Good place for a picnic. You can get something to eat or drink at the NCC Bistro located in the park.

We were at the Confederation Park for Norah Jones playing the Ottawa Jazz Festival. She was amazing. The venue volunteers were organized, but they can have little more paths with lights when 1000 of fans are exiting the venue - just for safety.
