Canadian Museum of Nature is called the National museum of natural science is located in Ottawa, Ontario. Around 150 years later, on 1 July 1990, the Museum becomes a Crown Institution under an Act of Parliament. From its inception, collection-based science work has been a core feature of the museum. It has over 14.6 million specimens in collections which are displayed in permanent exhibitions. The bird gallery has over 500 specimens and over 450 species. Now, museum research relies on two cross-disciplinary areas of expertise, such as the Center for Discovery and preservation of the natural and the Center for Arctic Knowledge and Exploration. Canadian Museum of Nature's library has over 35,000 books and 2,000 periodic titles. The museum offers free admission for members and Tiny Tot.
