“Tyrone Mills Ltd. is a traditional water-powered mill, built in 1846. It is sis located 32.2km downtown from Ajax, ON. Robert Shafer has owned and operated Tyrone Mills Ltd. for the past 30 years. The mill provides a wide range of high-quality products and promotes a strong community connection. The site is renowned for its expertise in flour milling and is one of Canada's oldest water-powered grist mills. The millstone and woodworking machinery are powered by interconnected belts, pulleys, and line shafting, with minimal modern modifications. Visitors can enjoy a picturesque walk along the dam during the summer or partake in shopping and festivities during the fall.

2025 Update: Over the last 170 years, the Tyrone Mills has been a grist mill, flour mill, lumber mill, apple cider producer, historic tour center, bakery, and rural community center.”

AJAX PUBLIC LIBRARY REVIEWS

A welcoming place, no matter who you are. I love seeing all sorts of people when I visit: students, seniors, kids... there's something for everybody. The place is clean, safe, organized, spacious and well lit. The upper floors are great for quiet work/study. Wifi is fast. There are games, comic books, a play space for kids, Blu Ray/DVDs, audiobooks, 3D printing and more.

Serenity. Modern. Meets all your needs. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Clean. Tons of activities and programs.

1st time here at library. Love how big it is and so clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of parking and it's on public transit route as well.

Very professional and friendly staff. Also for the Pokemon GO trainers there are two gyms and several pokestops in this area.

Beautiful council building... Lots if car parking space. Excellent service & very helpful council staff.

Great spot to check out if you've never been here before. Everything is homemade. The donuts are delicious and fresh. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. If you go on a Saturday or Sunday, you need to try their fresh stone baked pizza. We had the Alfredo pizza with bacon, and it was beyond perfect. Light crust, seasoned dough, flavorful sauce. An absolute must try.

Dropped in the Mill today to pick up some fresh apple cider cinnamon donuts and pancake mix. Great selection on natural products and candy from my childhood era. There are stairs in the back that leads up stairs to wood making shop. Also there is an outside patio overlooking a pond with seats where you can sit back and enjoy Mother Nature while sipping a coffee and eating your goodies. They also have a wood oven to enjoy pizzas! So worth it!!!

Charming spot in Bowmanville. Many options made available by local vendors. Amazing treats. Eager to try the pizza next time.
