Markham Civic Centre is a well-known and elegant city hall designed by the famous Arthur Erickson. The Markham Civic Centre is adjacent to an 11.5-hectare park with a large pond reflecting the south facade. A single piece of artwork is located on the Town Centre's east side. The artwork is a skeletal town hall theme with a bell attached. The Civic Centre is a functional building with the Great Hall and Lower Atrium, which provides office space and many public spaces for special occasions and meetings. The hall's Snow and Ice Festival provides local and Chinese artists with an opportunity to showcase their talents.
