We lived in Markham many years before going to the Museum, but now we send our kids to camp there, use it for girl guides, and visit on the open house days. Its a wonderful facility and right now there is a special PanAm sports exhibit which is really first rate (as good as one would find in any museum in Canada). The collection of historical buildings is wonderful, it really does balance the past and the present. Lovely grounds as well, staff are great.

This is a great venue for small theatre and recitals. Though the stage does fit a full orchestra and large choir. Acoustics as a performer are not great but as an audience they are great. Since this theatre is small most seats are great for view and sound. Markham Theatre subscription has a large variety. The Movie nights are wonderful. All films are from TIFF. Try it. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

7373 Reesor Road, Markham, ON L6B 1A8

Since 1927

Arenas, Stadiums, Ice Skating Rink, Annual Skating Party, Outdoor Programs, Sights & Landmarks

The first Minstrel Show was a great success and the site chosen for the new rink was on Arthur Lapp’s Rouge valley property convenient to water and well shaded

Price: Adult (ages 16 and older) $5.00, Child (ages 3 to 15 years) $2.50

I LOVE this place. The outdoor arena is hidden down a path surrounded by trees. There is a small concession area and indoor space to put on your skates. There are no rentals and the ice is a bit more bumpy than an indoor arena, more like a pond surface would be. However, being outside surrounded by the snow covered trees listening to music makes this arena magical. It is definitely worth the visit.
