The food at Simonholt was amazing! I had the coconut prawns appetizer. And let me tell you there were PRAWNS! Not multi dipped shrimp, not "jumbo" shrimp.. PRAWNS! Delicious, cooked to perfection mouth watering PRAWNS the likes of which I have not seen in decades! And the sauce... a perfect balance of flavor and a touch of heat to elevate them! I also had the small artisan salad... spectacular! FRESH!!! This salad was amazing as well. We noticed a TripAdvisor Award of excellence on the wall when we came in. Clearly it is well deserved! The service was even better than the food! Hard to believe, but it was! Jenny and Joe are clearly very well trained professionals who are excellent at what they do. We would return to Simonholt in a heartbeat! In fact it was sooooo good we are going to go out of our way to return! Prices were reasonable, service fantastic, and there was something for everyone on the menu. We highly recommend Simonholt.

Went for dinner with my family. The food was excellent. My noodle bowl was very good, too much food but I have leftovers now. The truffle fries were delicious. The fries were home made, not frozen. If a restaurant makes homemade fries they are a winner in my book. The service was very good, Maddy was great. I gave this place a poor rating many years ago but this visit redeemed themselves. Excellent food and service with reasonable prices. Thank you.

My boyfriend and I went out for dinner last night and our male server (I wish I had gottten his name now) was amazing! He was kind and detailed, even though towards the end he got visibly busy he kept his cool and it never diminished his service. My boyfriend got the fish and chips, and I got the bison burger. Aside from the patty being a bit too well done everything was really good. Our first time and won’t be our last.

THE VIEW OCEANSIDE GRILL REVIEWS

Had the beef stroganoff, it was a delightful. The seafood chowder with fluffy bread was a flavour powerhouse, and I didn't test the seafood flambé but the table side event was super fun. Also recommend the deserts. There is no dress code, but next time I go, I would dress up a little more and really lean into the elegant, sophisticated atmosphere.

We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary this evening at The View. From my first contact with them when I called to make the reservation right through the meal the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Melissa, was very friendly and accommodating to a dietary need of mine finding out about the ingredients used. The presentation of the food was elegant and delicious. The warm chocolate brownie and Nanaimo Bar tort were a great finish to such a lovely dinner.

The View offers a very special dining experience. It's our go to place for birthdays and other special occasions. The staff are very professional, friendly, and eager to please everyone's dietary needs. The atmosphere is beautiful. The views from certain tables are beautiful. Meals are delicious. Highly recommend this place.

OFF THE HOOK REVIEWS

I attended a work event here and was very pleased with the experience. My meal was delicious with everything properly seasoned. It all had flavour and worked well together. I had the turkey dinner which was tender and moist and couldn’t stop stealing the kale off of other people’s plates :) Having previously worked as a server for over 10 years I was very impressed by the service. The staff made us feel welcome and comfortable, laughed with us and were incredibly quick and efficient. Nothing was missed. They also stayed late past their closing time so that our evening could continue. Highly recommend and thank you so much for such a fun evening.

This food, oh my God. I'm so stuffed right now to the point I almost feel drunk. The chicken, brisket and the ribs, wonderful. The ribs fall off the bone. Even the corn, coleslaw and fries are excellent, especially the corn. Staff great and friendly as well. Definitely worth coming back for.

As a couple with a lot of dietary restrictions, this place has been such an amazing find. The fish and chips are the best we've had, and they are gluten free! The tardar sauce is even dairy free! The service is great, as well. Also, try the gluten free calamari - it will not disappoint.
