Norbert, owner of Smooth Latin Grooves is an incredible dance instructor! He is truly a master of his art. He maintains a high degree of professionalism while also making us laugh and smile throughout his teachings. We had a last-minute wedding and 6 days prior to the date we called him asking if he could teach us some dance moves for our first dance. There was no one else who made time for us on such short notice. Even with the time constraint we put on ourselves, what we ended up getting out of it was an incredible choreographed dance that blew our guests and ourselves away! We can say honestly that what he did meant so much to us. Although we only met each other one week prior to the big day, we ended up inviting Norbert to our wedding. It was only fair that he got to witness all his hard work. Our guests all raved about how in awe they were when we hit the dance floor. What would have been a simple slow dance turned into a magical compilation of diamond steps, spins, lifts, and dips! My fiancé and I signed up with Smooth Latin Grooves to learn a choreographed routine for our first dance at our wedding. We were both complete beginners to dancing going into this, and had no previous experience, so we were unsure how we would do with learning an entire routine. Norbert made the whole experience very fun and relaxed, and any stress we initially had was quickly alleviated! We were able to learn all the new dance moves at a pace that was comfortable for us, and Norbert always did an excellent job at explaining everything and walking us through each step. We were never rushed through our lessons, and he was always willing to go slightly past our lesson time to answer any questions we had or help us perfect what we had just learned that week. My partner and I reached out to Smooth Latin Grooves Dance Studio about eight weeks before our wedding in September 2023. We spoke with Norbert about helping us with a dance for our first dance as a married couple. Working with two grooms presents its own set of challenges to work through when choreographing a partner dance and then doing it to a live cover of a song presents another entirely different set of challenges. Norbert was able to work with the two of us (both at different levels of experience in dance) and make us feel comfortable with the dance and make the process fun as well as the end result stunning! He choreographed our first dance and incorporated our suggestions as well as offering his own input and invaluable expertise. Neither my partner or myself had experience with the slow rumba and Norbert was able to teach us the basics of the style as well as some rather impressive moves that were incorporated throughout the dance. We did not anticipate the applause we received after each complex feature step we performed! Norbert was also able to tailor our dance to the venue which had guests on each side of our dance floor. Smooth Latin Grooves really made the process of learning a dance to our first dance song fun and made us look like pros on our big day!!
