“Detoxification Centre provides services for persons struggling with and withdrawing from substances such as alcohol and other drugs, and they also provide short-term residential withdrawal management services to patients. The Detox Centre offers access to self-help groups. They also provide supportive counselling over the telephone and in person. The confidential services available at the Detox Centre are for men and women 16 years or older who can safely withdraw in a non-medical setting. The centre is open for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and partially accessible. Admission to the centre is based on bed availability. Their addiction-care workers have specialized training and many years of experience in addiction care.

2025 Update: At Detoxification Centre, there are 10 beds in the male observation room, three beds in the female observation room.”

ACT also offers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and counseling, which is effective in treating addiction. Transfer to ACT and begin the treatment now. They will explain how opioid substitution therapy works, help you get your prescription right, and reduce your dose. These are the procedures they provide for their patients to take care of their addictions.”

This detox is amazing, the staff are all so polite and welcoming, they do not judge, they do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable and safe. Words can’t explain how happy I am to have been able to stay at this wonderful place. I felt like a brand new person leaving this facility, I left with the motivation to turn my life around only after 3 days! This place really opened my eyes and made me realize I can get better and I will get better. I was well fed and taken care of more than I could ever ask for, the staff work so hard to make the stay a great experience. I highly recommend this facility for anyone trying to get clean and better their lives. Even the patients who come in for help are all welcoming and polite, there is not a second I regret! I drove all the way from Ottawa to be at this facility and it was well worth the drive! If I could give more stars I would! Such a great place. I will now be going to treatment and am 100% confident I will succeed in bettering my life thanks to all the wonderful people I met here! If your struggling with addiction this is where you need to be!

Truly the most amazing experience for me I got my life back on track and had time to reflect on my wrong doings. Amazing staff, amazing people and good food.

Honestly this place is amazing! They gave me back my dignity and made me feel welcome. They took covid serious to keep everyone safe. I highly recommend this place for you or your loved ones.

The help here is absolutely lifesaving. The doctor is wonderful. All staff are super friendly and helpful. As much as I wish I didn’t need to go to the clinic every week they make it as quick and easy as possible. The doctor and other staff have been super helpful with prescribing and dispensing my methadone as well as other medications to help me manage my chronic pain and mental health issues to the best of their ability. I recommend Change Healthcare to anyone who is struggling with opioid dependence and looking to get their life back. These people are doing such amazing work to help marginalized people, and I’ll be forever grateful.

I've been going to this clinic since it's inception in 2005. The doctor is a fair compassionate man. Recently this clinic has been the victim of daily vandalism and last night another fire was set. We cannot blame the clinic for these issues as it happens when everyone has gone home. We must unite and let these criminals know that we are against this abhorrent behavior not blame the clinic for lack of security. The clinic relies on gov. funding and they do the best they can. There is no better clinic imo.

Think I already posted but these guys are awesome they always are smiling it's contagious and if you are upset they'll take the time to ask if you're ok. Other patients are nice too, gt just a positive environment for everyone seeking services. But the staff still rocks!

This place and the staff are just awsome people and anyone who says that the treatment don't work have no clue on how bad addiction is to overcome or how bad it is in this city to get a family doctor that won't discriminate or make things worse for some people and ther chronic pains.thank you ACT STAFF for been ther..........p.s it's the best place for help

Without the team at act kingston i would probably b dead .they r so professional & caring I luv getting my methadone here.
