“St. Matthew's R.C. Parish is a Christ-centred community that strives to continue Jesus' ministries of evangelization, prayer, love and social justice. The church was established as a Christ-centred community. Next to the church, Holy Cross High School was present. The school also served as a space for meetings and teaching catechism. By 1984, the church had its first renovations and addition of stairs, deck, windows, and doors. Sept. 21st is celebrated as a special day, the feast of St. Matthew. With the fast-growing community, the church started serving 100 families yearly, and the count started growing yearly. Additional facilities such as track and field, tennis courts, and portable classrooms were added to accommodate the growing parish community and its various organizations.
