This is a great place to visit any time of year. The park hosts festivals and concerts. Bear Creek Park provides a total of 7 picnic shelters and ample parking available at the 140 Street parking lots, ensuring convenience for visitors.

“Blackie Spit Park is a great place to visit and just take in the beautiful scenery. They have a friendly beach just before the spit area. Blackie Spit Park is a wildlife/bird-protected and nesting area. They also have a small swimming area for off-leash dogs. This park is nice to see people, just relaxing and having picnics. Their new dog park is great for dogs who love to swim. This place is a wonderful place to bring your family and your furry friend, and also for people who love photography. There is a rental here for watercraft like boats and paddleboards. If you want to try them out, you can rent them per hour. This park provides a hidden gem worth visiting and experiencing.

2025 Update: Blackie Spit Park is a sandy spit with abundant bird life, a 5-km nature trail.”

“Hawthorne Rotary Park has a large playground where children can enjoy the best time. The park has a perimeter of 3.05 kilometres and an area of 0.23 square kilometres. This place contains several picnic tables, open areas, washrooms, and changing rooms, making it an excellent spot for family outings. The park hosts event series, concerts and events. The park has a variety of mature rhododendrons and a number of walking paths and benches where you can enjoy the surroundings. The park also includes a water park, nature trails, ponds and two creeks. Hawthorne Rotary Park has a wheelchair access facility.

BEAR CREEK PARK REVIEWS

One of the best, and we'll know parks in the city that has become synonymous with surrey. A great place to have a picnic, host family gatherings, religious events, or a place to unwind and disconnect from the city. Playground: Has both a playground and water park for the kids. Restrooms: Restroom are located around the park, but are at some distance. Dog-friendliness: Best to keep you dog on a leash. Picnic area: Ample area with benches and coverings to host large family gatherings.

We always come here especially in summer. We visited lastweek with our friends and the kids really loved to play there. We took a place where we can see the kids.(near train area ). It's a good place to visit especially for the family, for the kids. You can do many activities for free.

This place is amazing! We grew up here in the 90's and it was never as nice as it is now. Clean, beautiful, great parking and wow! Well done.

Beautiful park, usually very busy. There is a decently sized grass area to have a picnic. Also an area for dogs. We've come to this park many times to take some family photos as it has great scenery, greenery and when the light hits, it's perfect.

Great place to have a family picnic and enjoy in water. Parking is free but can be challenging to find a spot ad the place is usually busy. Restrooms: Public free washrooms available. Picnic area: Ample space.

Excellent area to spend some quiet time with friends. The weather helped too.

HAWTHORNE ROTARY PARK REVIEWS

Beautiful park with children's playground. Nice big splash area and the restroom is located near it. Children were screaming and having fun in the playground. Lots of trees. There were also few ducks on the lake swimming around or resting on the log. It was nice overall.

A fun park to spend an evening with family! The kids have a lot of fun activities to do as the playground is well equipped. We had a fun birthday party celebration. Recommend for family outings.

I really enjoy this park because it's great for all ages. There are plenty of paths for walking and BBQ areas for picnics. The only downside is that parking can be challenging when it's busy.
