She completed subspecialty training in endocrinology, followed by a research fellowship at the University of Toronto. She is a Professor and Chair of the Division of Endocrinology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and a consultant in adult endocrinology at Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
