“Dr. Shawna Johnston earned her BSc in Chemistry with honours from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and her MD from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed a five-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen’s University, followed by specialized training in Urogynaecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at St. George’s Medical School in London, England, under the supervision of Mr. Stuart Stanton, supported by a McLaughlin Fellowship. She serves as Deputy Editor of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada (JOGC), and her research focuses on non-invasive diagnostic methods for urinary incontinence and the nonsurgical management of urodynamic stress incontinence.

“Dr. Graeme Smith completed a combined MD/PhD at the University of Western Ontario under the supervision of Dr. John Patrick. He subsequently obtained his FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queen’s University and completed subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Smith serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at Queen’s University. He divides his time between high-risk obstetrics and clinical and basic science research and serves as Director of the Clinical Investigator Program for the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University.

Dr Johnston performed my first surgery. I may need another and she will do this surgery also. She’s absolutely wonderful not only in her skill set but her gentle and caring approach makes all the difference in the world to her patients. She is an excellent example to other professionals in her field. As well, I observed her with her residents and she was both inclusive and took the time to educate them and in a respectful way.

Dr. Smith is a caring and compassionate doctor who takes as much time as is needed to answer questions and share information in a way that it's easily understood. Our daughter was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 and Dr. Smith guided us as we made our decision and he made sure to come see me and personally do my ultrasound before discharge after having our baby at 21 weeks. His compassion and genuine sorrow for our situation was very apparent and we felt very well taken care of.

Dr Smith is the most kind, caring & compassionate Dr. He always made sure to listen to whatever concerns or worries I had in regards to my pregnancy & the procedures required. He always validated & never was dismissive. He was willing to see me as often as I required and requested. He is simply wonderful

Dr Smith and his team were awsome with are first pregnancy and the completions that we faced loosing are still born son vary careing staff. That was going on 10 years ago. Know we are expecting again after a long hard road.

Dr. Francis is very kind, knowledgeable and patient. She listens to what you have to say, and cares. She makes you feel at ease. She always has a smile on her face. My hysterectomy went well and there were very minimal scars. Recovery was very quick. Casey was very polite also. I would highly recommend Dr. Francis as she saved my life, and I'm sure many others. Oshawa is lucky to have her! She is top notch in my books!

Dr Julie Ann Francis is a gem! She is so kind & compassionate. She is so easy to talk to & is a terrific surgeon. She genuinely cares about you & your health. Does not rush you & you can ask her anything. Her nurse Cassie & staff are absolutely wonderful. They take an awful situation & make it better. Love them all. I feel very blessed.

Dr Francis is such a warm, friendly helpful dr. She is so gentle, after performing my pap test, I had to check with her to make sure she had done it! Gives you all the time needed to address any concerns. Truly an amazing dr.
