“Dr. Shawna Johnston earned her BSc in Chemistry with honours from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and her MD from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed a five-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen’s University, followed by specialized training in Urogynaecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at St. George’s Medical School in London, England, under the supervision of Mr. Stuart Stanton, supported by a McLaughlin Fellowship. She serves as Deputy Editor of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada (JOGC), and her research focuses on non-invasive diagnostic methods for urinary incontinence and the nonsurgical management of urodynamic stress incontinence.
