Knox Mountain Park is the largest natural area park, spanning 385 hectares, located just north of downtown, and open to the public, where visitors can see deer, birds, and occasional grizzly bears. This park also features ten trails varying in length and difficulty. The scale, height, central location, and environmental facilities make this park a highly coveted destination for residents and visitors alike. Over the past decades, the number of visitors to the park has increased. Knox Mountain Park is home to many important Okanagan ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy the views of the lake and the surrounding mountains from the park.

2025 Update: Additional parking is now available on the western side of the base of Knox Mountain, accessible from Poplar Point Drive.

Mission Creek Regional Park is a stunning, long stretch of linear trail and features riverside and hiking trails where regular fish spawning attracts tourists to this picturesque area. Mission Creek Regional Park offers picnic areas, playgrounds, and exploration opportunities year-round. The park covers 92 hectares and includes an environmental education centre and a forested tract with running, hiking, and biking trails. The well-maintained trails offer gorgeous views and pass through various cycling and walking routes, including swamps. Dogs are welcome on a leash along designated trails and pathways within the park boundaries.

2025 Update: The park is a hub of activity and offers the Robert Hobson Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan ( the EECO ), the Kokanee spawning channel, a children's fishing pond, access points to the Mission Creek Greenway, and a picnic shelter.

Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park is a broad recreational area with beaches and forested hiking trails on an artificial reservoir. The trail was created to enhance the North Okanagan Basin and North Okanagan Highlands eco sections by collecting the maximum landform range from Kelowna's suburbs eastward to the top of the mountains. This picturesque park has a historic railway trail offering hiking and biking over trestles and tunnels. The historic Kettle Valley Railway has regional recreation appeal and offers long-term leisure possibilities for the rising population of the Okanagan Valley with its trestles and tunnels. Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park features an excellent trail for walking or hiking for all ages.
