3 Best Martial Arts in Richmond, BC

My 5.5 year old son attends kickboxing here at The Art of Kickboxing and coached by owner, Kris. We had enrolled our son here because we wanted him to learn defensive skills and gain confidence. We have been attending Kris class 3x a week for over 7 months - This is the class that my son gets excited and is motivated to go to! Before class, Coach Kris checks in with my son on how his day went and then they get into training and end with games. Kris' compassion, patience and kindness shows. Class sizes are kept small. My son regularly gets 1:1 sessions with Coach Kris as he is a younger child and not many children his age group are enrolled in his classes. Great class, nurturing and patient Coach. The Art of Kickboxing is a gem.

I signed up for a free try-out session not knowing exactly what to expect—and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere was super welcoming, and the coach(Kris) took the time to explain techniques clearly, even for beginners like me. The class was a great mix of cardio, strength, and real kickboxing skills—challenging but so energizing! Everyone was friendly and supportive, and I never felt out of place. It’s a great environment whether you’re completely new or already have some experience. I left the session sweaty, smiling, and seriously considering signing up for more. Highly recommend giving it a try!.

I did the women's intro kickboxing class and it was very informative, learned alot on my first day and will be going back. Coach Heidi is amazing and makes you feel at ease. Thank you!.

Nguyen Martial Art is one of the greatest places I've ever been a part of. Especially Master Jay — he is always kind, thoughtful, and truly serves and welcomes everyone who comes through the door. Not only my kids, but even I feel inspired to learn martial arts here. I feel so lucky to have met a leader who possesses both skill and character.

First time trying martial arts and I had an absolute blast at this place! The owner/instructor was super friendly and passionate which made the class really fun and welcoming. I also learned some useful self defense basics. If you want to have some good sweat and fun, this place is for you. Highly recommend!.
