Sharon Museum and Gardens is an open-air museum site that was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990. The historic place is located 4.3 miles from Newmarket, ON. The site covers 1.8 hectares and includes a historical building and 6,000 artifacts. The restored building contains David Willson's study. The Ontario Heritage Trust has granted a public easement to ensure its protection meets conservation requirements. Sharon Museum and Gardens' commitment to inclusion and social justice led to the Children's Peace Movement, which championed the political reform movement of the 1830s. The site is also used for weddings, rentals, and public events. In addition, there are several buildings you can walk through on a self-guided tour. Sharon Museum and Gardens is wheelchair accessible, with paved paths and accessible entrances to the temple and museum.
