“Dr. Gurdeep Parhar obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Calgary and subsequently completed his postgraduate training at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. He has worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Practice in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Additionally, he served as a Medical Advisor to WorkSafe BC for five years and as the first Medical Coordinator for the BC Workers' Compensation Appeal Tribunal (WCAT) for nine years. Dr. Gurdeep Parhar provides consultation services to assist in the rehabilitation of injured or ill workers and, in this capacity, serves as the Medical Director for several corporations in British Columbia. He treats severe illnesses, significant injuries, and chronic pain. For his patients' convenience, he founded Pacific Coast Recovery Care to focus on treating patients with disabling injuries and medical conditions. Currently, he practices as the principal investigator on several educational innovation grants, employing interprofessional models to address issues important to underserved populations and Indigenous Peoples.
