THE KEG STEAKHOUSE + BAR REVIEWS

Went to the Keg recently for date night and it was great. We hadn’t been since 2019, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We had a great waiter, Theo, and he was very attentive all night, as well as very friendly. We didn’t feel rush, which is appreciated given the cost of this type of dinner. We slowly started the evening by grabbing a drink - they have a good cocktail selection, however, their types of gin were limited. Before the appetizer we got the warm bread service. Great way to start the evening and I really appreciated the special cheese and herb butter. We shared the scallops appetizer and it was very delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but for the price it was a small portion. I then grabbed a wedge salad - just WOW! It was a nice big portion, the lettuce was crunchy and I had more blue cheese dressing and crumble than I could’ve expected. I grabbed the sirloin with garlic mash potatoes, and I wasn’t disappointed. The steak was a perfect medium and the potatoes were creamy. The veggies in the plate were not overcooked and was happily surprised the have roasted beets in my plate. My wife grabbed the baseball steak and it was cooked perfectly! It was tender, juicy and easy to cut. The fries were not great, however, they weren’t crispy or salted enough. Would definitely come again for a date night.

Great food, great service. Upscale steakhouse with great choices for everyone. This location is starting to show it’s age slightly, but the quality of the experience more than makes up for it.

Great food and extra nice staff ! Canadians, you do not disappoint ! Edit after a second visit : amazing rib steak. Incredibly tender, tasty and juicy. Special thanks to our waitress Liv who recommended it and was a perfect host.

We went here for my birthday dinner and WOW!!! this place is amazing! Great service and the food was amazing. My wife ordered the short rib which was tender as ever and didn’t need a knife to eat it. I ordered the fried chicken and yes I said fried chicken and wow it was amazing. Our server Sorel was very knowledgeable, and recommended excellent dishes from the apps to the mains very satisfied with highly recommend.

Lunch with my Mum and sis for a Mother’s Day celebration! Our server was on point letting us know a huge table hadn’t yet ordered, not to rush us, but made us aware. Not our first time there, we are all pretty familiar with the menu. Orders taken, it wasn’t long until our food was on the table. The ambiance of this restaurant is impeccable.. highly recommend for either a work event, first date or special occasion! I had the sorbet for dessert… lime is my favourite.

This place continues to impress! This particular time, we booked the private room, had a set menu with a few great choices. I had the salmon tartar to start, halibut for dinner and key lime pie for dessert. All excellent choices.

AL'S STEAKHOUSE REVIEWS

Been coming here since I can remember. Used to go to the bells corners location, staff know my grandmother here very well. Always an absolute treat to be here, iv taken a wide range of people. On valentines day of 2024 another place canceled our reservation without notice, and Al's had our back. Sat us in a nice spot on short notice and did not rush us. Love coming here, the service, the food, the atmosphere, everything is 10/10. Never a problem.

Went to Al's for the first time in many years (I don't live in Ottawa anymore) with a work group. They managed the large group really well, our server was very attentive and the food was absolutely excellent! I had the steak and goat cheese salad and crème brulée for dessert.

Als Steakhouse was a lovely experience. The fillet was beautifully done and so tender. Delicious drink and the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and made us feel welcome. A must try restaurant in Ottawa.
