The Museum witnessed the social and mechanical life of Canada's early industrial revolution. The Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology is recognized as one of Canada's National Historic Sites of 1977. Housed in a 150-year-old Waterworks, this National Historic Site preserves two 70-ton steam-powered water pumping engines, perhaps the oldest surviving Canadian-built engines. This famous monument is one of the best examples of Canadian architecture and it is an industrial waterworks structure built in the Victorian style. It is a fantastic heritage showing the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the late 1800s. The place has excellent educational displays and interactive events to keep young minds engaged.
