Dr. Philip Teal graduated with a medical degree from the University of Alberta and completed his neurology training at the University of British Columbia. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurology. Dr. Philip is the founding member and director of the Vancouver Stroke Program at Vancouver General Hospital. He also established the acute stroke program, the Stroke Prevention Clinic, and the clinical trials research program. He has served on the board of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of British Columbia and Canada, as the Chairman of the Canadian Stroke Consortium, and as a board member of the Vancouver Hospital Foundation. Dr. Philip Teal has a clinical interest in stroke prevention, acute stroke management, and diagnostic neurology. Dr. Philip Teal has participated in over 75 clinical trials for stroke prevention and acute stroke therapy.

2025 Update: He has the Sauder Family and Heart and Stroke Foundation Professorship in Clinical Stroke Neurology and is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of British Columbia. He won the Master Teacher Award from the Department of Medicine at UBC. Dr. Philip Teal is the author of numerous publications in scientific journals.
