“Dr. Keith MacDougall is a skilled neurosurgeon who earned his medical degree from the University of Alberta. He completed neurosurgical training at Western University in 2008, followed by fellowship training in pain surgery and deep brain stimulation. Dr. MacDougall is an Associate Professor at Western University and joined the Department in 2012. “Dr. Neil Duggal is an experienced neurosurgeon who completed his medical education at the University of Ottawa and his neurosurgery residency at Western University. In addition, he completed a one-year fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He joined the department in 2000 as a member of the spine group and is currently an associate scientist at the Robarts Research Institute and an assistant professor in the Division of Neurosurgery at Western University. He is the first surgeon to successfully perform an artificial spinal disc replacement in North America. Dr. Duggal has received several grants and awards, including the Canadian Research Award for Outstanding Research by a Canadian Surgical Resident from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1997.

2025 Update: Dr. Duggal has dedicated 20 years to researching the biomechanics, imaging, basic science, and clinical outcomes of patients with degenerative spinal disorders. He serves as the co-director of the Western Interdisciplinary Pituitary Group.”

Amazing surgeon, awesome bed side manor as well! He walked me through my brain surgery and gave me positive thoughts and positives nurses around to make me feel comfortable before surgery. He showed me a picture of my actual brain, he pointed out my tumour area that he was going to take out. Great knowing what was going to happen and assured me everything would go well. Everything went perfect ! I definitely recommend him.

We saw Dr. MacDougall when he was still a resident at the Alberta Children's Hospital and my daughter was just a baby and he was amazing! Great bedside manor, was sensitive and caring when needed and able to joke with us when we needed to smile. Wish he'd stayed here in Calgary in Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Dr. MacDougall literally gave me my life back. I've suffered for 40+ years with debilitating migraines. The ONS device was implanted 10 wks ago and I've not missed ANY work since. Thank you isn't enough! Dr. MacDougall was fun, knowledgeable and very supportive! He's a straight shooter and doesn't baby his patients, gets to the point quickly. Nurse Jean is FANTASTIC, her patience with programming is unbelievable! Great team!

DR. NEIL DUGGAL - LONDON HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE REVIEWS

I required a spinal fusion due to a car accident. I was seen by Dr Duggal in a relatively short time and due to the nature of my injury was booked for surgery within a month. There is a reason Dr Duggal is busy during his clinics and that is because of his expertise and experience. His staff and interns were awesome - providing as much information as I requested and deferring to Dr Duggal when they didn't know. I attended the Emerg Department due to a concern I had. Dr Duggal who wasn't working came into to see me in his day off because he heard I had come in as a precaution - no one else will be touching my spine other than Dr Duggal.

After having back issues for some time I was fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Neil Duggal. I am not qualified to judge surgeons of this level but I believe like anything else not everyone is equal to their peers. It is unfortunate that in the medical system in Ontario, Doctors and supporting staff are stretched and wait times may seem unreasonable due to oversights created due to this condition however there is no other surgeon at this level and therefore unless absolutely necessary I trust only Dr. Duggal to oversee my back surgeries and related treatments...thank you Dr. NEIL Duggal!!

DR. Neil Duggal is an exceptional doctor, he did disc replacement surgery on me, and I am now painfree and liberated from the fear of not seeing my children grow up. Thank you Neil.

I can credit Dr. Duggal for removing a massive pituitary / brain tumor, saving my life. Dr. Duggal and team triaged and managed my quickly deteriorating condition with exceptional expertise and team work moving my case to a higher priority as needed. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Bolton yesterday, and what a positive experience that was !. He confirmed my thoughts that all was well with me & I left that appointment at ease & relieved . Highly recommend this Doctor.

Dr Boulton saved my life!! I had a double aneurysm and he was able to stop it from causing too much damage. All I remember is his steel blue eyes. I will be forever in debt. Thank you Dr Bolton for saving my life!!
