"Ireland House Museum provides visitors with a rich historical firsthand encounter with one of Burlington's founding families. The museum's mission is to engage audiences by sharing history and culture. Ireland House Museum is constructed using fieldstone coated with limestone mortar. The museum's passion is to share history and heritage. This building technique kept the house in excellent condition even before restoration. Guided tours, heritage demonstrations, and interactive programming at the museum recount Burlington's history. Ireland House Museum offers free admission for children aged three and under. Workshops and specialty programs are available.

2026 Highlights: Ireland House Museum is a historic home built between 1835 and 1837 that tells the story of Joseph Ireland and his family, one of Burlington’s earliest settler families. The restored house offers a look at life during the 1850s, 1890s, and 1920s. Visitors can explore rooms with period furnishings, original family items, the surrounding grounds, and the interpretive centre. Guided tours, heritage demonstrations, and educational programs help visitors learn more about the area’s history."

ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS REVIEWS

Prior to visiting here, i didn't know that it was the biggest botanical garden in Canada, and man oh man, it is massive. I'm not an expert on gardens, but what i got from here was beautiful scenery, detailed explanations of each plant, and kind staff who help you out and answer your questions kindly. I would definitely visit again for walking down the mesmerizing trails.

Had a great experience, all around. Plan the whole day, allow yourself time to take it in and appreciate it. The trails are well kept, gardens are immaculate, and there's plenty of space to enjoy. Bought tickets on advance.

Stunning botanical garden. Lots of beautiful flowers and other interesting things to see. Definitely a great day to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the views.

IRELAND HOUSE MUSEUM REVIEWS

What a delightful historic home museum in Burlington. Why did I wait so long to visit The house is beautiful and in such good condition, definitely felt like stepping back in time. The knowledgeable guide was friendly and obviously enjoyed her job, sharing with us many entertaining tidbits of information. Plenty of parking, and lovely grounds that would be great for picnicking in summer. They encourage photos with no flash. So many amazing artifacts. What a fun time we had there. Highly recommended.

Decided on a mid week tour of this museum and had a great time. It didn't feel like an hour passed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate as she shared the family's history. It was very interesting and I highly recommend the tour to anyone. We werent able to see Marie's room as they were doing restoration work on the day we came.

Ireland house museum is one of the royal and beautiful museum i have ever seen. The host was also very friendly and gave us all the information related to this house.

Always have a great time at BPAC. I’ve been bringing my elderly grandparents Teri and Bruce here for years and has always been amazing. The manager Mike is absolutely fantastic and is always going the extra mile for us, he was a great addition to the team. Looking forward to seeing Candace Bushnell at next weeks show!.

Very friendly staff, amazing volunteers Pat and Lynda. Thank you for your kind, caring guidance. Beautiful, clean and ample space. It was a wonderful learning experience after watching Jungle book live. Live performance was fun, family oriented and my favourite part was that the audience was included which was a very nice touch.

Such a great venue! The seats are super comfy and roomy!! We sat row B, but I don't think there would be a bad seat in the whole place. The staff are super sweet and mostly seniors. Worth the drive from Oshawa!.
