Sylvan has been an absolute blessing for our child. We were struggling to get the support and guidance for our daughter to thrive with reading and writing. We are extremely grateful for all the teachers and staff at Sylvan. Over the course of the sessions, we have seen our daughter grow in confidence with her abilities in language arts. It’s a safe place for children to not only grasp missing concepts but also gain self-assurance, understanding, and curiosity skills. There’s a real interest in the children and their lives which forges a beautiful ecosystem of knowledge and motivation. Five Stars!! My son has a learning disability (reading) and has been attending Sylvan tutoring in Nanaimo, BC for over a year. I have noticed a significant improvement in his reading and confidence in attempting to read words that he previously would not have tried to read on his own. My son continues to attend Sylvan as I expect him to reach his goal of reading at his grade level (7) this year.

My kid has been learning at Sylvan for almost 4 months now, she is happy with the teacher and the pace. I think Sylvan does a great job keeping parents in the loop with constant progress check and feedbacks. A great experience so far.

Great service! Amazing management, teachers and team. Always helpful. They give further explanations and details that parents would like to know. They answer questions and provide guidance. Always above and beyond! The program might not be for everyone. It’s a commitment and consistency is key. Parent involvement is crucial especially at the beginning. Parents waiting area is a great option instead of the common area. Note: we’re in the reading program.

I would give more than 5 starts if I could. Best service and education program provider I've ever experienced. It sounds someone was upset and gave them a bad review here but I've never felt like that. They are always helpful and friendly and work hard for improving our kids' math and reading skills. Excellent communication, very professional and great program! Their service is smooth and straightforward. No weirdness and confusion. I've heard they've been doing it in Nanaimo over 20 years! My friends' kids are also taking math there and they all are very happy! I definitely recommend to everyone.

I was a student at this Centre for seven years. The program transformed me from being a C average student, who was trailing over a full year behind in Math and English , to a A- average student. At the time of my completion of the program I was two years ahead of grade level standard. This program made high school mathematics a breeze and well prepared me for my post secondary education. Kumon not only strengthens Math and English/Reading skills, but also teaches the importance of organization, and encourages students to pursue independent learning. I will always recommend this Centre. The effects of this program are quite life altering.
