“Cat's Corner has served the Montreal community for over 26 years. Anaïs Sékiné and Meghan Gilmore are the directors of the Cat's Corner. The school is where swing dancing is born and nurtured, and where people are supported to reach new heights of self-expression. Their teachers are encouraged to favour experiential learning, in which learners have enough time to try things and practice. They play lots of music in the swing jazz genre to sensitize students to the music that drives the dance. The dance academy offers classes for all ages and abilities, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. They provide private and group dance classes. Cat's Corner offers free trial classes to their students.

You meet new people and make new friends. You learn about Jazz music and the historical context in which it developed. Last but not least, there are swing dancing communities all over the world: wherever you go, you will have an instant connection to locals who share the same passion for swing dancing, be it Philadelphia, Seoul or Barcelona ! On top of that Cat’s corner is a beautiful and inviting space – wooden floors and brick walls, right on St-Laurent Boulevard, in the heart of the city. Come to one of their Friday night dances, take the free intro class and see for yourself –I bet you’ll be hooked instantly, just like I was ...

Cat's Corner is one of Montreal greatest gems. It is an incredibly friendly, judgement-free environment where everyone is open to meeting new people, making new friends, and just wants to dance and have fun. I strongly recommend trying out the Friday night Downtown Stomp; I guarantee you'll leave the place brimming from ear-to-ear and will be hooked! I first walked in as an incredibly self-conscious, two-left-footed hot mess and just a few short weeks later not only made lots of new friends but could actually swing!

Soooo much fun!! Such JOY floods over you as you dance. Just BE. Thank you, Cats Corner for persevering through all the trials of the past few years (lockdowns, mandates, etc ..) You are a bright corner in a darkened world!

École ideale pour apprendre la danse latine de A à Z! Les excellents et excellentes profs enseignent les techniques de pas et de style dans une ambiance accueillante et dynamique. Située au centre-ville cette ecole vous permet de rencontrer des gens de diverses communautés culturelles, on y parle français anglais et espagnol, très enrichissant comme milieu. Les propriétaires adorables Sonia et Morris vous encouragent à vous dépasser en vous proposant diverses activités stimulantes (compétitions, classes privées, chorégraphies de groupe ou duo, etc). Ils sont à l'origine de plusieurs festivals internationaux de danse à Montréal, sont très actifs dans la communauté de danse latine et la formation de professeurs ou artistes depuis 30 ans. Bref, une institution digne de ce nom! Bravo San Tropez vous êtes TOP! to the family

J'ai eu le privilège d'en suivre quelques uns avec Katia, une vraie professionnelle autant sympathique qu'accomplie et maintenant je poursuis avec Nicolas et j'améliore mes techniques tout en m'amusant. Il est super bon !! Et que dire d'Ashley, la super gentille réceptionniste !!! Je n'ai que des bons mots pour l'école de danse San Tropez.
