2025 Update: House of Eights Dance Studio was established by Abady Alzahrani. They perform with over 35 classes a week in many different styles. They also have the facilities for private lessons and wedding choreography services. They offer studio rental photography, parties, and more. House of Eights Dance Studio provides a class video portal and a membership plan.”

“Maritime Dance Academy is the largest dance academy that provides a variety of dance styles for people of all ages and skill levels. Phyllis Paton is the founder and director of the dance school. All of their instructors are highly trained and experienced. They encourage their students to be the best dance masters in the world. The dance school offers dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Acro. They have 11 studios. Maritime Dance Academy conducts summer dance camps for their students. The studio has 30 instructors. The dance school has been serving the Bedford location.

2025 Update: Maritime Dance Academy's studio with 24 thousand square feet. All their students are examined by PAEC, for tap class and ballet students take examinations with the Society of Russian Ballet. They also offer a birthday party contract that provides one hour of dance and one hour in their cafe area.”

HOUSE OF EIGHTS DANCE STUDIO REVIEWS

I was visiting Kjipuktuk/Halifax for a week and it was so nice to be able to dance and learn from the teachers and community at House of Eights. Abady made me feel welcome instantly, brought upbeat, sassy, and fun choreography and is great at community-building. It was also an extra joy that my visit coincided with Carolin Mateus’ trip back and it was fun to learn more about Reggaeton from Carolin with her vibrant energy

This is the go-to place for dancing! I was so nervous in the beginning but now I am so glad I gave house of eights a chance! I've been especially happy to have met Issac who teaches contemporary, his class is my most favorite! By far the best! And now that I've started I'm not going to stop anytime soon!!!

House of Eights provides a safe environment for new people to come try the world of dance. I always feel welcome and enjoy all the instructors!

Maritime Dance is a long standing institution in the dance community here in Nova Scotia. We’re so lucky to have such an established, experienced team leading our future generations of dancers. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and they really take the time to ensure their students are getting the training they need to succeed. Highly recommend.

My daughter Lauren loves MDA! The intensive training program is well-organized and focused on progression. Lauren has grown so much in her few years at MDA and I feel it's not only attributed to her own dedication, but because of the instructors, lessons, testing and more.

We love it there ! Friendly teachers and children learn a lot of different types of dance.
