We started the wedding planning process unsure of whether we needed a wedding planner. Ultimately, I’m extremely grateful that we not only ended up hiring one, but also because we ended up with Shing Weddings. With their extensive experience, Lisa and her team (Nancy, Alex, Jon, Amari, Sarah, Emily, Hannah) helped us organize our Dream Wedding for over 100 guests in two separate venues–the afternoon ceremony at Hycroft Manor, and the evening cocktail & dinner reception at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Shing Weddings is not the cheapest among planners, but as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. During the planning process, Lisa was professional, reassuring and responsive. She is culturally aware, as well as emotionally sensitive, particularly when it comes to our complicated family dynamics. Approaching the actual wedding day in December, we were faced with heavy snow which caused travel chaos both in and out of Vancouver (75% of our guests were from out of town), as well as within Vancouver between the two venues. Thankfully, Lisa and her team calmly and seamlessly navigated the challenges–they made it look so easy (which I’m sure was not!)! Ultimately, the result was a beautiful snowy winter wedding that was flawlessly executed and where our guests have said it was the most fun & beautiful wedding they had ever attended! Thank you Lisa and the Team for all the heart and love you have put into this most important of milestones in our lives!! We’re very grateful!.

Shing Weddings helped us plan our wedding on July 2, 2023. Michelle and her team were amazing. Throughout the entire process, Michelle was always on top of every decision that had to be made. She gave us multiple choices for every vendor and venue to help us prepare the best wedding possible. She was responsive at all hours of every day in case we ever had any questions. She was very easy to work with and always put us at ease if we were stressed out about anything. As we approached the day, Michelle created a detailed timeline down to the minute for everyone including vendors, wedding party members, emcee, and our parents. On the day of the wedding, Michelle and her wonderful team made sure we were taken care of every minute of the day from 9:00am until midnight. The entire wedding was beautiful and ran so smoothly thanks to Michelle’s dedication and attention to detail. We were so happy with how everything turned out, and felt that we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day of. I would definitely recommend working with Shing Weddings and especially Michelle for anyone looking to have their perfect wedding.

Wow, I am at a loss for words when it comes to Erin and the team at Filosophi Events. Everyone says how stressful planning a wedding can be but we strongly disagree. Bobby and I had so much fun planning the perfect day built for us. While Erin did all the heavy lifting, we got to sit back and see everything come together. She made the whole experience exciting. I could not wait for our next call or chat to go over what was next on the agenda. And at the end of the day isn’t that how it should be. Erin and her team at Filosophi made it a breeze. It was easy to get excited about every detail of the day to come. The countdown was on and we could not wait! We flew out from Toronto to Whistler, a place very special to us, where we got engaged and had been on many ski trips. We had never been out in the summer time, but Erin and her team made sure we had the best of the best from the venue, food, music, flowers. She had everything running smoothly so that Bobby and I could just zone everything out and enjoy our week together with our friends and family. I cannot thank Filosophy Events enough you guys are the real deal and I hope we get to plan something with you guys again soon!.

Best wedding decision ever! We worked with Margaux at Filosophi - she was absolutely amazing. We hired her for the Takeover package. She provided fantastic recommendations of vendors throughout the planning process. She was always responsive to emails and questions and she was so incredibly organized. She kept us on top of all the things we didn't even know to think about! And she absolutely brought our wedding dreams to LIFE! She helped us create a day that was personal and special to us. I was blown away with how beautiful they made our decor in our venue. And most importantly, she allowed my husband and I to be 100% present during our wedding day. The day went off without a hitch and I didn't think about the schedule or the logistics once. We used Margaux Richards as our day of planner. She was amazing!! Super responsive to all of my emails throughout the year when asking about wedding etiquette or help finding vendors. She instantly knew what my style would be like and made the best recommendations. She has a great calming presence and makes you feel confident that everything will be taken care of when you hand the keys over to her a few weeks before the wedding.
